.The Sandy Hook Soap Factory automatically directs $1.50 from the sale of each and every Gift of Hope Soap to Plan Canada to help with providing clean drinking water initiatives & sanitation projects throughout the World.  This is in addition to five cents of every dollar of gross sales from both our websites directed to Plan potable water projects.

As avid supporters of Plan Canada for the past 33 years it was a natural progression when we began making our handmade natural soap in 2003 to include them in our business by directing 5 cents of every dollar of our gross sales to their admirable clean water initiative programs.  A few years back Plan was involved with a large rural Bolivian clean water project which involved providing potable water to an area in dire need.  A matching Sponsor contributed 10:1 for every dollar directed to this critical initiative.  With such a generous sponsor we wanted to do more to help and the Gift of Hope Soap was born.

 

From each and every bar of our Gift of Hope Soap sold we directed $1.50 to the rural Bolivian water project.  With the matching sponsor contributing 10:1 an amazing $16.50 was generated for each and every bar sold over a two year period.  We are pleased to advise that this wonderful project has been seen to completion.

Plan Canada continues to initiate new projects throughout the world as the need for clean water and sanitation is still strong.  The Gift of Hope Soap continues to support new projects as more than 2.2 million children still continue to die every year – that’s four every minute – as a result of diarrhea caused by poor sanitation and hygiene.

We are pleased to advise that to date we have aided in the drilling of seven wells.
